Capstone Sa
Course Description: This course examines advanced leadership theories and leadership effectiveness in today's organizations.
Experience: As part of this class I gained more insight on my personal values and skills as a leader as well as I was able to understand the importance of having a vision and goals. My mission as a leader was also explored and better developed through means of adaptive leaderships principles.
This class included the opportunity of planning a lesson, which I presented with my peers to the class, and of preparing blog posts as reflection of my understanding of class materials. Furthermore, we had multiple presentations which were intended to develop teamwork, research, and problem solving through adaptive leadership practices. The final project of this class consisted of a community map in which I identified the groups to which I belong or in which I participate.
The main focus of discussion in this class was "The Contrarian's Guide to Leadership" By Steven Sample, based on which - and on other readings as well- we created weekly 25 word summaries which proved to be both challenging and extremely useful method of reflection.
